GeoMapper Data Collector App for collecting geodata in the field and GPS logger, using offline maps.

GeoMapper Data Collector is an application for collecting geographic information in a SQLite database and recording GPS tracks with distance and duration measurements. It can be used for various outdoor activities (walking, running, cycling, ...) with offline map usage. By controlling the transparency of offline maps, it can be combined with other offline maps or with Google Maps if there is an internet connection. You can use various GIS applications (e.g. Global Mapper (manual in Serbian), QGIS) to easily export any map you have and use it as an overlay or basemap.

NOTE: If the app keeps crashing on Android 12, you will need to disable notifications in Settings.

Characteristics:

• record GeoPoint at current location, specific coordinate or chosen location on the map

• define user, project and number for each GeoPoint

• predefined set of mountaineering/hiking types for GeoPoint

• export recorded GeoPoints as SQLite database or in another format (CSV, KML, GPX or GeoJSON)

• record GPS track and GeoPoints on it, with basic information about distance and duration

• GPS tracks can be recorded in various formats (GPX, KML or GeoJSON)

• set recording tolerance for accuracy, duration and distance

• Import and display on the map GPS track files recorded on other devices and applications

• view/use multiple maps as overlays on the basemap at the same time

• supported formats for offline maps:

• set transparency for each overlay displayed

• place the pin at specific coordinates and center the map on the function

• display information about current location (coordinates, altitude, speed, accuracy) and recording (start time, duration and distance)

• simple compass

• display coordinates in DMS or DD format

• support for coordinates in the MGI/Balkans 5/6/7 zone, used on topographic maps in Yugoslavia, using the Helmerts transformation

• display coordinates in UTM or MGRS format

• support for using external SD card to store maps offline

• support for altitude correction, based on Earth Gravitational Model EGM96 and/or NMEA sentences

• recording raw GPS data (NMEA sentences) to file

• Detailed list of visible GPS satellites and their characteristics

• notification panel with location coordinates and information about distance and duration (when recording is active), with additional buttons to add GeoPoint, start/stop track recording and close the notification panel. It can be activated in the Settings->Notification Settings tab

• copy, share (via SMS, Viber, eMail etc.) or save current location (as KML)

Permissions:

• Location is used to: locate the user on the map, create GeoPoints (at the user's location) and record GPS tracks.

• Storage is used to: export database, GeoPoints and GPS tracks, load GPX files from other sources and store maps offline,

• Internet is only required to download Google Maps

NOTE: The application is working without these permissions and internet usage, but with limited functionality.
